Imitation crab sticks salad

A salad recipe that's pretty popular in Russia. You would know, because it has mayo in it.
Ingredients
- 300 g imitation crab sticks
- cooked rice*
- 100 g canned corn
- 1 small fresh cucumber
- 4 medium-sized eggs
- 4 tbsp mayo
(Cooked) rice
- 1 cup (small) any long grained white rice
- 2 cups water
- ½ tsp salt
Ingredient amounts aren't set in stone, feel free to adjust them more to your liking.
Directions
Preparing the rice
Prepare the rice by washing away the excess starch off in cold water until the water runs clean. Add the aforementioned amounts of rice, cold water (usually it's 1:2 ratio rice to water, but do check the packaging of your specific rice for instructions) and salt to a pot and set on a stove on high heat.
Wait for the water to boil and reduce the heat immediately to low. Set a timer for 20 minutes and don't peek every couple of minutes! If you do so, the steam will escape and you don't want that.
Preparing the eggs
To prepare the eggs, put them in a pot in cold water with a bit of salt (I heard it prevents them from cracking or something but idk whatever). Set on a stove on high heat and wait for the water to boil.
When the water boils, remove the pot from the stove and set aside somewhere for 10 to 12 minutes for them to actually cook through. When the time passes, pour away the hot water and wash them in ice-cold water, supposedly it helps with peeling off the shells. Which is what you have to do next...
Assembling the salad
Cut everything into small cube pieces, wait for everything to cool off, add the cooked rice and mayo and serve.
